SAD - Seasonal Affective Syndrome
At least 25% of Finnish people suffer from seasonal affective symptoms in some point in their life. This phenomenon is known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and we Finns are at risk of developing it because of its geographical location. However, the polar night gives way to the ways of life and changing the environment.
The most important factor in its emergence is the lack of natural light and the fact that our body can’t produce vitamin D throughout the year. This hormone-like compound will treat depression as effectively as the most well known antidepressants. According to D-vitamin Council the typical dosage is 5000-10000iu a day for adults to relieve symptoms. In addition to treat depression, it has a positive effect on wellbeing also in many other ways. You can add but it needs to be 5000-10 000 lux to provide sufficient effect. Light enters the eye through the optical Chiasm affecting the brain's electrical system, the ion channel ion.
Nutritional Factors B vitamins, salts and proteins are the most important to prevent seasonal affective symptoms. Serotonin and other neurotransmitters are composed of proteins. They are packaged in vesicles in cells and released from there by means of calcium. Presynaptic neurons release the neurotransmitter and the postsynaptic convey an impulse forward via electricity in milliseconds.
Proteinsynthesis is a demanding process, and subject to certain conditions. First, we must have the raw materials, for example the essential amino acids that may produce proteins. All biological reactions must be catalyzed in a series of reactions. If water or ions are missing, the reactions slow down 10-100 fold. Protein synthesis acidifies the body so minerals and water are needed to purify cells afterwards.
Chemicals and environmental toxins slow down all the reactions of the human body. Cells respond to prevailing conditions and will gradually begin to die. Since all bodies are built of cells, we can’t deal with chemicals very casually. Up to a certain point the body has the ability of renew cells and repair the damage, but not forever.
If you are too tired to convey about yourself or others, it is a good idea to check whether the nutritional factors are in order. Depression is a symptom, it is not a disease. I hope a bright future to you.
